Pequea EC Church, 5482 Old Philadelphia Pike, Gap, will host a free movie night featuring the movie “Overcomer.� The screening will take place on Saturday, Feb. 8, starting at 6 p.m. in the church’s gathering place. Chairs will be provided, but attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets if they wish. “Alice In Wonderland� Tea Party Fundraiser Set By Marcella Peyre-Ferry

The Friends of the Moores Memorial Library in Christiana will hold their fifth annual fundraising tea on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 2 to 4 p.m. next door to the library at Chantry Place, located at 15 N. Bridge St., Christiana. The theme for this year’s event is “Alice in Wonderland,â€? with dĂŠcor reminiscent of the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. Costumes related to the theme are encouraged but not required. Tea hats are also encouraged. The event is designed for adults and teenagers age 14 and up. Admission will include tea and light refreshments such as tea sandwiches, sweets and savories. Magician Noah Fitz from the Professional

Magicians Club of Lancaster County will perform. Tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance by Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the library or by calling 610593-6683. Members of groups who wish to be seated together should alert the library when they purchase tickets. The site is handicapped-accessible. Anyone in need of accessible seating should let the library know when purchasing tickets. The popular event sells out quickly, so early ticket purchases are encouraged. The Friends of Moores Memorial Library raise money to help meet the library’s annual budget, and the group is committing to raise $15,000 this year. Bridge Of Hope Chester County Names Executive Director By Francine Fulton

Although Bridge of Hope Chester County is now part of a national organization and it has new leadership, the philosophy of the organization remains the same. “We are a nonprofit organization whose commitment is to end homelessness,� stated executive director Lisa Cameron. Prior to her appointment to Bridge of Hope in January, Cameron served as director of empowerment services at YWCA Lancaster from 2010 to 2019. Her work with the YWCA continues as a consultant with the YWCA USA for a pilot program that focuses on girls and women of color who have experienced trauma.
