LCHS Holds Homecoming BY ANN MEAD ASH

On Oct. 16, Lancaster Catholic High School (LCHS) held its annual homecoming celebration. The 2020 homecoming queen, Daica Perez, was crowned by 2019 queen Kat Sahd during halftime of the varsity football game against Juniata High School. The 10 LCHS homecoming queen candidates were Elizabeth Bomberger, Lauren Brommer, Ella Cassidy, Joanne Cybulski, Cecilia Deel, Gabrielle Kambourgolos, Raina McAnally, Erin Mohr, Daica Perez,

and Sheridan Riva. Elizabeth is the daughter of Steve and Cindy Bomberger of Lancaster. At school, Elizabeth is a member of National Honor Society (NHS), Spanish National Honor Society (SNHS), Student Ambassadors, Respect Life Club, Garden Club, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Aevidum, Link Crew, MiniTHON, Fellowship Committee, and Women in Business. She plays lacrosse and runs cross-country. Outside school, she is an altar server at Sacred Heart Church. After graduation, she plans to attend college. See LCHS Homecoming pg 2

“She Kills Monsters” To Play At MTHS BY ANN MEAD ASH

ristel Kennedy, director of the Manheim Township High School (MTHS) production of Virtual Realms’ edition of “She Kills Monsters,” said she is pleased with the effort the cast of 12 is putting into rehearsing for the show. “The students are working really hard,” she said. “There is something about saying, ‘We know this won’t be canceled’ that makes them work harder for it.” Coming off the cancellation of “Mamma Mia!” in the spring due to COVID-19 restrictions, Kennedy chose the play knowing that it was written for electronic production. “So (students) go home each afternoon and rehearse from their bedrooms or their living rooms,” said Kennedy. “We are running scenes

played by Robert Forrester; The Great Mage, Steve, played by Michael Oster; Evil Tina, played by Vivienne Salfrank, and Evil Gabbi and Farrah the Faerie, played by Megan Norman. The show will be presented virtually on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Nov. 19, 20, and 21, at 7 p.m. The show, which will run for 90-minutes with no intermission, is considered PG-13 due to language and themes. One reason Kennedy chose the play is because of the timeliness of the story. “D&D is really popular right now,” she said, noting that most of the characters in the show have both real-life and D&D personas. “Our costumer is having so much fun designing all these costumes,” said Kennedy. Directing a virtual play means working with technology that creates different scenarios from stage

Characters move from reality to the imaginary world of the game and back.
