MTHS Marching Band To Present “Piano Man” By Ann Mead Ash

Scott Siegel, director of the Manheim Township High School (MTHS) marching band, admits to being a big fan of Billy Joel, but he was not alone in choosing the theme for this year’s fall drill. “Every year, the band staff and I talk

about the students we have and what their strengths are,” said Siegel. “We choose a theme and build a show that is customized to their ability level.” The show is not only designed for the specific group of band members. “We try to do something unique every year so that a student who is in marching band four

years will have four unique and special shows to remember,” added Siegel. The 98 members of the MTHS marching band gathered at the school, 115 Blue Streak Blvd., Lancaster, the week of Aug. 10 to 14 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day to learn this year’s drill, titled “Piano Man: The Music of Billy See Piano Man pg 5
