MTHS Marching Band To Present “Piano Man” By Ann Mead Ash

Scott Siegel, director of the Manheim Township High School (MTHS) marching band, admits to being a big fan of Billy Joel, but he was not alone in choosing the theme for this year’s fall drill. “Every year, the band staff and I talk about the students we have and what their strengths are,” said Siegel. “We choose a theme and build a show that is customized to their ability level.” The show is not only designed for the specific group of band members. “We try to do something unique every year so that a student who is in marching See MTHS pg 2

A year ago, Jenn Knepper, founder of the Gifts That Give Hope (GTGH) Lancaster Alternative Gift Fair, was looking forward to moving the fair from its location at the Farm and Home Center in Lancaster to The Junction Center in Manheim. Township Program Supports Billboard Contest Has Goal Residents With Special Needs Of Saving Lives Local Graduates Win Competition

A little over a year ago, Sgt. John Donnelly with the Manheim Township Police, 1825 Municipal Drive, Lancaster, attended a training session where he learned about a program run by the Monmouth County, N.J., police department that helped to identify residents with special needs. “Their program has been running since 2016 and has been quite successful,” reported Donnelly, noting that the Monmouth department has about 1,400 registered participants. “They have had one case that the program helped to identify a citizen who See Township Program pg 3
