Boettcher House Concert Series To Kick Off BY ANN MEAD ASH
t has been a few years since concerts were held on the grounds of Boettcher House Museum. Logistical issues in 2019 made it impossible to hold the concerts, and then COVID-19 restrictions caused the cancellation of the 2020 summer concerts. Now, Patti Beaumont, president of the board of the Boettcher House Museum, is happy to announce that the free concerts will return. “People can’t wait (to attend),” said Patti. “The groups want to play,” she shared, noting that the 2021 season schedule came together quickly. “I love the Boettcher House,” she said. “We will have a full schedule.” As in the past, concerts will be held outside at Boettcher House, located in Landis Woods at 2369 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, on Saturdays and Sundays. Attendees are encouraged to bring folding chairs and blankets. Local musical group TJ Earley will perform at the kickoff event at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 31. Penny’s Ice Cream truck will be present

Historical Society Celebrates Stories Jean Kilheffer Hess, executive director of Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society (LMHS), could not help but share a “fun fact” when asked about the organization’s upcoming annual Storytelling Night. “No one knows what the storytellers will say ahead of time,” divulged Hess, who explained that neither the planners of the event nor the storytellers discuss story topics. “Interweaving of stories happens spontaneously,” noted Hess, adding, “Invariably it comes together in a beautiful way.”
