LADIES’ LUNCHEON

Lancaster Christian Women’s Club will host a luncheon at noon on Wednesday, April 1, at the Bent Creek Country Club, 620 Bent Creek Drive, Lititz. The Manheim Township Educational Foundation (MTEF) has set a Wednesday, March 18, deadline for sponsorships for its Education Forecast Breakfast. The event will be held on Thursday, April 16, from 7 to 9:30 a.m. at the Lancaster Country Club, 1466 New Holland Pike, Lancaster. This year’s annual event will focus on trauma-informed care. Mark and Beth Wagner have been directing plays at Manheim Township High School (MTHS) for more than 30 years. For their last Manheim Township Performing Arts (MTPA) production, the pair has chosen to stage “Mamma Mia!” The show is based on music of the 1970s Swedish pop group ABBA and written by playwright Catherine Johnson. MTPA plans to present the international hit musical in the auditorium at Manheim Township High School (MTHS), 115 Blue Streak Blvd., Lancaster, on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, March 19, 20, and 21, at 7:30 p.m. The play is set on a small Greek island and tells the story of Sophie, played by Annalise Prentiss, a bride-tobe who is trying to find her real father

so he can walk her down the aisle when she marries Sky, played by Ayush Iyer. Sophie’s mother, Donna, played by Yasmin Nicholas, who was once the lead singer of the 1970s group Donna and the Dynamos, refuses to discuss the past, but Sophie reads her mother’s old diaries and learns of three men who could be her father. Sophie invites the men, Sam, played by Mason Norris; Bill, played by Josh Deliver; and Harry, played by Mitchell Callais, to her wedding. The story also includes Donna’s two lifetime friends and fellow members of Donna and the Dynamos. They are Tanya, played by Alexa Day, and Rosie, played by Dayanna Blanco. The story is punctuated by 23 ABBA songs, written by former band members Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, including “Dancing Queen,” “Knowing Me, Knowing You,” “Take a See “Mamma Mia!” pg 2

Bridge Of Hope Opens Lancaster Office Neighboring Volunteers Sought To Help Fight Homelessness By Ann Mead Ash

In August of 2019, Bridge of Hope Lancaster and Chester Counties and Good Samaritan Services parted ways.

Cavod Academy of the Arts will host a night of culinary fare, musical performances, and a live auction to support its vision to create with purpose. Triple Play - GOTR Slates Multiple Activities

Bridge of Hope, a national organization that fights homelessness through community support efforts, made the decision to operate Bridge of Hope programs separately in both Lancaster and Chester counties. In Lancaster County, Audrey Metzler became the county director, moving into the organization’s new offices at 255 Butler Ave., Suite 205, Lancaster, in December.
