By Ann Mead Ash

In 2019, Emily Kline and Melissa Faller, the founders of Emme Dance Collective, created a dance concert called “Bring Into Being” to introduce their company to the Lancaster area. This year, the pair has created “Veer” with a goal of distinguishing their dance company from other established organizations. “We want to be known for our thing, which is contemporarystyle movement,” explained Faller. “We are veering off into our own direction.” “Veer,” which will include 10 dance pieces and last about an hour, will be presented on Saturday, Feb. 29, at 7:30 p.m. at the Leffler Chapel and Performance Center at Elizabethtown College, 1 Alpha Drive, Elizabethtown. The original pieces choreographed by Kline and Faller will be performed by See Emme Dance Collective pg 6

Donna Lucidi is passionate about sewing, and she is eager to help others develop their skills. “Sewing was one of my fortes,” she said, reminiscing about her career as a family and consumer science teacher at high schools in Cambria and Lancaster counties. Lucidi also taught sewing classes for Penn State Extension and at quilting and fabric stores in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. She is a founding member of the Red Rose Quilters Guild. “People feel better about themselves when they can make something,” Lucidi remarked. “The idea (behind my classes) is to show people it’s fun to do these things.” Lucidi will teach three classes for the See Sewing And Quilting pg 12

Lynette Morales, the Everence church relations representative who coordinates Stewardship University, wants Lancaster County residents to know that the yearly event is not just about money. “It is a day of holistic stewardship,” said Morales, who noted that the workshops offered are designed to answer questions like: What does it mean to be a good steward of the Gospel? Or of the gifts God has given me? See Everence pg 6

Lynette Morales (right), Everence church relations representative and coordinator of Stewardship University, and Jazmine Rivera, administrative assistant with Mennonite Central Committee, one of the sponsors of the event, are hoping area residents will attend the many workshops offered by the holistic stewardship event on March 7 at Calvary Church.
