Loretta Gable Englerth works on the mural, which features the countryside surrounding Tel Hai Retirement Community.

Train club member Bob Stevens said that Englerth worked closely with club members to make sure the mural was exactly what they wanted. “It is unbelievable,” Stevens said of the mural. “Everything on the mural you can see at the Tel Hai property - the farms, the houses. She added some personal items, but it’s all about Tel Hai and the beautiful area we live in.” The community is invited to view the mural and train layout during holiday open houses, which will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays, Dec. 10 and 17, and Thursday, Dec. 29. Admission is free. The StoneCroft Commons on the Tel Hai Campus is located at 4000 Tree Line Drive, Honey Brook. Visitors should follow signage on campus for parking and entry instructions. Poole Forge To Present Christmas Program

Historic Poole Forge’s covered bridge will be decorated for the season.

A Welsh Community Christmas Evening will be presented at Historic Poole Forge on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 4 to 8 p.m. Featured will be a traditional bonfire, caroling, making toffee and making traditional Welsh crafts for New Year’s.

The site’s mansion will be open with several craft vendors inside. Crafts for sale will include custom jewelry, knitted items and Christmas ornaments. Homemade soup will also be available for sale, and attendees will have an opportunity to win a quilt.

A Welsh guitarist will perform and sing Christmas music. A Christmas sleigh will be situated on the porch of the mansion, offering a setting for family photos.

Visitors will be able to stroll though the historic grounds, which will be decorated for the season.

Historic Poole Forge is located at 1940 Main St. (Route 23), Narvon, 3 miles east of the Shady Maple complex. For more information, visit www.historicpooleforge.org or call 484-797-5302.
