Brick Lane Community Church, 52 S. Brick Lane, Elverson, will host First Friday Winter Play Days from December through March from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. First Friday will provide an opportunity for mothers or caregivers of young children to visit with others while children age 5 and under play in a big open space indoors. Geigertown Fire Company, 3433 Hay Creek Road, Robeson Township, will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet on Sunday, Dec. 2, from 7 to 11 a.m. Santa will be present at the breakfast. Proceeds will support the fire company. The fire company also announced that it will escort Santa through the area aboard a fire truck on Sunday, Dec. 16. Santa will be at Plow Farms, 4410 Morgantown Road, Mohnton, from 3 to 4 p.m. and then follow a route thoughout the community. For 2018, the Christmas at the Ironmaster’s celebration at Historic Poole Forge will be larger and more interactive than ever. “People are used to coming here for the show, but not for Christmas shopping,” said Dawn Rise Ekdahl, executive director of Historic Poole Forge. New this year, the event will feature a Christmas Marketplace where visitors can peruse a variety of holiday gift options during the event hours set for Fridays, Nov. 30 and Dec. 7, from 4 to 8 p.m.; Saturdays, Dec. 1 and 8, from noon to 8 p.m.; and Sundays, Dec. 2 and 9, from noon to 5 p.m. As is tradition at the forge, located at 1940 Main St., Narvon, organizers will include specially decorated Christmas trees, a wishing well for Christmas hopes and dreams, and visits from Santa, as well as photo opportunities on Sunday afternoons. St. Stephen Reformed Church, 249 E. Main St., New Holland, will hold Children’s Breakfast on Main on Saturday, Dec. 1, along with the annual Christmas on Main event. A breakfast of pancakes, sausages, and juice will be served from 8 to 11 a.m. The children will find a live Nativity scene portrayed by church youths. Children are encouraged to bring baby Jesus a gift (an item for the food bank) to place beside the manager. Outside, they will find farm animals to feed. Ryerss Farm for Aged Equines will present its annual holiday open house on Sunday, Dec. 2, from 1 to 3 p.m. Visitors will be able to take photos with Santa and meet with the horses that reside at the farm.
