We do some one-onone training,” Burstein said. “It is not required, but we encourage them to attend the (formal) training.” Tutors are asked to meet with a student for a minimum of three hours a week for at least one year. “They have to meet at a public location; most meet See Volunteer Tutors pg 2
Summer Program Explores The Science Of Space “Usually, if (students) come back, it’s a good indicator that they are interested,” said Bill Turner when discussing the Science in the Summer program offered recently by the Honey Brook Community Library. “Rarely do kids drop out. There are a lot of fun things that this program has.” Science in the Summer is an experiment-oriented course that is offered to classes of 16 students in two age groups - children entering second and third grades (Level I) and children entering fourth through sixth grades (Level II). Honey Brook Library’s program, held at the Honey Brook Presbyterian Church, was offered from July 23 to 26. See Summer Program pg 8
