Celtic Musicians Will Perform In Honey Brook By Francine Fulton
The Knotwork Band, a professional Celtic folk music trio, will perform on Sunday, July 7, at 5:30 p.m. at Honey Brook Borough Park, 73 Pequea Ave. (Route 10), Honey Brook, as part of the borough’s summer Concerts in the Park series. In lieu of paying an admission fee, attendees are asked to bring nonperishable food items for donation to the Honey Brook Food Pantry. During the concert, food will be available for sale by the Honey Brook Lions Club. Visitors should bring chairs and blankets for seating. The Knotwork Band includes Victoria Visceglia, who plays the silver flute and wooden whistle and provides vocals; Wicky Barnes Jr., who plays the guitar and bodhrán (Irish drum) and provides back-up vocals; and lead singer and songwriter Tommy Kochel, who plays

Ice Cream Social Planned The Friends of Springton Manor Farm (SMF) will host a Victorian Ice Cream Social at the SMF Manor House on Sunday, July 14, from 1 to 3 p.m. Featured will be fresh, locally made ice cream and live music. Admission, parking and ice cream will be free, but donations will be accepted. For children, there will be crafts and games and a giant bubble-blowing exhibition. New this year will be pony rides offered for a nominal fee. This year, the Friends will serve ice cream from Lapp Valley Farm in New Holland. Ice cream flavors will include vanilla, chocolate, mint chocolate chip and raspberry. There will be various toppings available to create a sundae. While at SMF, visitors can tour the barn, which will be open until 2:30 p.m. Families may also enjoy the site’s See Ice Cream Social pg 8

St. John Center Lutheran Church, 599 Reading Road (Route 625), East Earl, will host the Music in the Grove concert series this summer. The weekly concerts will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the church grove. The Horst Brothers will perform on Sunday, July 7. People of all ages are invited, and attendees should bring lawn chairs. A performance by the Teen Theater Ensemble from the Yocum Institute for Arts Education kicked off the Summer Reading Program at the Village Library of Morgantown on June 19. In keeping with the program’s theme, “A Universe of Stories,” the young actors presented “Aesop’s Fables,” which included their take on various fables such as “The Boy Who Cried Wolf,” “The Lion and the Mouse” and “The Tortoise and the See Village Library pg 3
