Cavod To Stage “The Diary Of Anne Frank”
Girls in need of a prom dress are invited to “shop” for a free dress during the Clothing Closet’s hours of operation. Those who visit the closet are able to choose from clothing for men, women, children, and infants, as well as shoes, belts, purses and accessories, and household items. The clothing is sorted by volunteers and placed in various rooms in the church’s basement. Men’s and women’s items
are placed in one room, and another room houses clothing for infants through teenagers. Additionally, visitors may choose from household goods that have been donated, as well as personal care items. Because of the pandemic, the Clothing Closet ceased operations in March and reopened in July 2020. Currently, no children are allowed during the clothing distributions and people must bring their own bag to fill. Those who are not feeling well or have tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 14 days before their visit should return to the Clothing Closet the next month. Memorials Remember Lives Lost

When Monica DePaul, artistic director for Cavod Theatre, considered producing “The Diary of Anne Frank,” she wondered if the actors might struggle with the material. “I thought … it would be hard for the actors to embrace the reality of the situation,” she said. Then DePaul sat in on auditions. Impressed with the quality of the actors’ abilities, she had no doubts about their ability to portray the gravity of the show. See “The Diary Of Anne Frank” pg 3

From a distance, the numerous pinwheels set in the hillside at Warwick County Park on the weekend of March 27 and 28 may have resembled a unique art installation. However, the meaning of the display was more poignant. The pinwheels were set in place as a makeshift memorial to residents of Chester County who lost their lives to COVID-19. In addition to Warwick County Park, pinwheels were also installed at Springton Manor Farm in Glenmoore and at Nottingham Park. The memorial tributes marked one year since Chester County recorded its first coronavirus death.
