Young Professionals Group Seeks New Members BY CATHY MOLITORIS

Starting out in the workforce can be tough. Manheim Young Professionals is hoping to make things a little easier. “The goal of our group is to help connect people,” said Noah Martin, who created the group in March of 2019 with fellow Manheim business owner Michaela McDonald. “We got together and started talking about a way to boost community

excitement and promote good vibes in our little town,” recalled Martin, who is a real estate agent with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices and an investment adviser with Primerica Financial Services. “Our group is here to help people connect, grow and serve. We are striving to connect local young professionals, provide opportunities for education, challenge our peers to do their best and encourage them to serve the Manheim community.” See Professionals pg 2

Manheim Central Seniors Recognized eniors of the Month from Manheim Central High School were recently recognized. The honorees for November are Paul Hurst and Cassandra Ginder, and the honorees for December are Kade Kegarise and Erin Greiner. The Manheim Women’s Club sponsors the Girls of the Month and recognizes them at its April meeting. The Boys of the Month are sponsored by the Rotary Club of Manheim. Seniors of the Month are chosen by the professional staff of the high school based on academic achievement, character and involvement within the school and community. Paul, 18, is the son of Troy and Katerina Hurst of Manheim. He takes part in theater activities. Paul plans to attend college to further his knowledge in the computer systems technology field.

is active in football, track and field, basketball and the MC Science Club. His volunteer activities include trash cleanup around town, teardown of the farm show and cleanup of the book sale, and he also helps with the children’s nursery at Manheim Brethren in Christ. Kade plans to attend college to study architectural engineering. Erin, 17, is the daughter of Scott and Heather Greiner of Lititz. Erin is involved in the science club, medical career club and health care career academy. She was honored as a First Team All-Star for soccer. Outside school, she plays soccer for the PA Classics Academy team. She is active with the youth group at her church and sometimes volunteers with this group. Erin plans to attend college with the goal of becoming a physician assistant. She also intends to play soccer in college.

Changing Lives Through Cycling BY CATHY MOLITORIS

On roads throughout central Pennsylvania, bicycle riders are changing lives one ride at a time. That’s the philosophy behind Lifecycles, a Wrightsville-based organization that works to build young men and women of character. “We combine mentoring and a spiritual aspect with a vehicle that brings people together, which is longdistance cycling,” said Lee DeRemer, director of the organization. This past year, the group included 74 teens and 63 adult volunteer leaders, and Lifecycles is thriving

Cassandra, 17, is the daughter of Dale and Lisa Ginder of Manheim. She is a member of the concert band, jazz band, marching band and choir as well as the girls’ tennis team. She is a member of the Spanish Honor Society, where she was secretary last year, and the Spanish Club, where she was treasurer last year. Cassandra has received honors in the National Honor Society and Tri-M Music Honor Society, and she won three bronze medals in the National Spanish Exam. She is involved with Amnesty International. Cassandra volunteers with the youth group, praise band, and choir at Ruhl’s United Methodist Church. She is a member of Spinnin’ Spurs 4-H Club. She plans to attend a four-year college to major in business and minor in Spanish. Kade, 18, is the son of Kevin and Richelle Kegarise of Manheim. Kade
