Manheim Central Holds Homecoming Celebration BY CATHY MOLITORIS
anheim Central High School held its homecoming ceremony during halftime at the school’s football game on Oct. 16. Ten student candidates were chosen for homecoming queen by the student body. They are Monica Bauman, Mackenzie Ginder, Erin Greiner, Cami Lehman, Jenna Lutz, Selena Melendez, Audrey Miller, Victoria Moreno, Abigail Ritter and Brielle Wagner.

Abigail Ritter was crowned the 2020 homecoming queen by Abigail Miller, the 2019 homecoming queen. Audrey Miller was named honorary attendee. Monica is the daughter of Randy and Janice Bauman of Manheim. At school, she is a member of the varsity volleyball team. After graduation, she plans to further her education and become an elementary school teacher. Mackenzie is the daughter of Tom and Shannon Ginder of Manheim.

At school, she is a member of the volleyball team, science club and Math Honor Society. Outside school, she attends Manheim Brethren in Christ (BIC) Church. After graduation, she plans to continue her education in college with the goal of becoming a physical therapist assistant. Erin is the daughter of Scott and Heather Greiner of Manheim. At school, she is a member of the science club, medical careers club, Health Care Careers Academy (HCCA) and pingpong club. Outside school, she plays soccer for the Pennsylvania Classics Academy and is a member of the DOVE Westgate youth group. After high school, she plans to attend college and become a physician assistant. Cami is the daughter of Dwight and Christine Lehman of Manheim. At school, she is a member of Interact club, Aevidum, Spanish club and National Honor Society. She is also captain of the varsity field hockey team and participates in a mentorship program at Manheim Central Middle School as well as Wednesday morning worship,

The Manheim Drive-Through Parade was held on Oct. 7 in the parking lot of Manheim Brethren in Christ (BIC) Church. Participants included the local police, ambulance and fire departments, as well as the Manheim Central marching band and cheerleaders. “ We had 21 sponsor stands, which included local businesses, performances and nonprofit organizations,� said Anna Horst, communications director for Manheim BIC.
Awards were given out for participants. Ryan and Noelle Herr and their family won first place for Best Decorated Car. Sharon Winters won second place in that category. A photo contest was also held, and Riley Sauder won the prize. At the end of the parade, the church handed out milkshakes. More than $8,400 was raised during the event, Horst said, with the money benefiting the Mount Hope Nazarene Retirement Community, Manheim 4-H and FFA. “We chose these organizations because one, we feel it is an important See Parade pg 11
