Sweating It Out At The Manheim Project By Chelsea Peifer
People of all ages sporting bright blue T-shirts could be spotted working away throughout the Manheim Borough and surrounding countryside from July 15 to 31, as the seventh annual Manheim Project took place. Hundreds of volunteers from Manheim-area churches joined forces to serve the community, meeting the specific needs of local individuals and families who applied earlier in the year for free assistance with home projects they are unable to complete themselves. The projects ranged from simple to elaborate, including things like landscaping, weeding, scraping and painting, carpentry and electrical work, plumbing, replacing sidewalks, roofing, trash removal, power washing, and other home repairs. See Manheim Project pg 7
Volunteers from 10 Manheim churches participated in the Manheim Project, a community service project coordinated through Love INC of Lancaster County, from July 15 to 31.
