Governor Dick Environmental Center, 3283 Pinch Road, Mount Gretna, will host the Golden Eagle Hikers on Sunday, March 22, at 1:30 p.m. There will be a 2- to 3-mile hike for those over age 50. MARRIAGE COURSE

Crown of Life Fellowship, 610 E. Main St., Mount Joy, will host the next meeting in the biblical marriage enrichment course “Marriage: Together as One!” on Friday, March 27. Marriage ministry coaches Jeff and Missy Sugden will direct a time of biblical marriage teaching and Christ-centered resources. At 7 p.m., a short meet-andgreet will begin with light refreshments. The session topic, “No, No, You’re Better,” will be discussed from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Child care will not be provided. People of any Christian denomination are welcome. IRISH STORY TIME

Rock Ford Plantation, 881 Rockford Road, Lancaster, will host a family-friendly Irish Story Time in celebration of General Edward Hand’s Irish heritage on Sunday, March 15, at 2 p.m. in the Rock Ford Barn. This onehour event will include an Irish-themed story, games, a craft, and a tasty treat. There is a cost per person. Reservations are required and limited to a maximum of 50 guests. Hope Within Ministries is adding dental care to the list of services it provides to income-eligible residents of Lancaster, Lebanon, and Dauphin counties who are medically uninsured. Peter’s Porch Active In Lititz

All farmers living and operating near Elizabethtown, Mount Joy, Manheim, Mount Gretna, Middletown, and Marietta are invited to attend a Winter Farmer Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, March 18, at the Mid-Atlantic Farm Credit Community Room, 15 Eby Chiques Road, Mount Joy. Coffee and registration will be available beginning at 8 a.m., with presentations and interactive sessions starting at 8:30 a.m. The event will end with a free hot lunch. The meeting will include a diverse panel of local producers discussing soil health and their first-hand experience with conservation practices. The Pennsylvania Association of Sustainable Agriculture will share new research results about soil health, and Rosetree Consulting will present on techniques for managing vulnerable soils through See Farmers pg 7

SSC To Present “The Last Five Years”

For at least five years, pastor Rodney Martin of Lititz Mennonite Church, church member Bev Knight, and several volunteers from the area have been opening Peter’s Porch to Lititz residents. Peter’s Porch offers breakfast, a children’s clothing bank, and a food pantry to those in need. “Anyone is welcome,” said Martin, who noted that everything at Peter’s Porch is free. Peter’s Porch, which is open every second Saturday of the month from 8 to 10 a.m., is a ministry of the church, which is located at the corner of Water and Front streets in Lititz. Peter’s Porch is not held in August because the second Saturday coincides with the Lititz Rotary Club Craft Show, and the church youth group uses the parking lot as a fundraiser. Hope Within Dental is set to open on Wednesday, March 25, within the offices of Hope Within Ministries, 4748 E. Harrisburg Pike, Elizabethtown. Hope Within Ministries executive director Anne Marie McAlester said that free services at the dental clinic will be offered under the same eligibility guidelines as the free primary health care services that Hope Within Ministries offers to low-income residents of Lancaster, Lebanon, and Dauphin counties who are medically uninsured. Each patient must fill out an eligibility application. Appointments must be scheduled in advance by calling 717-367-9797. McAlester said that Hope Within has received requests from individuals for dental service for years, and she is thrilled to now be offering those as the See Hope Within pg 2
