The Building Industry Association (BIA) of Lancaster County announced the winners of the Pillar Awards at the Nov. 18 general membership meeting and BIA Pillar Awards dinner. There were entries in the following main award categories: Remodeling Project Achievement, a newly added category; Marketing Achievement; and Company Achievement. The 25 entries were evaluated by a group of highly qualified judges.

The Pillar Awards recognize BIA member companies and their professional achievements. The awards program is presented by BIA and the Pillar presentation sponsor, UGI Utilities.

In the Marketing Achievement Awards, Garman Builders Inc. won Best Showroom for having a welldesigned, attractive showroom that showcases the latest and greatest trends in industry products and services, and Douple Agency Inc. won Best Website for having a welldesigned, informative website that is user-friendly and is a positive online representation of the company.

The Company Achievement Awards included Builder Company of the Year, Remodeling Company of the Year, Supply Company of the Year and the Community Impact Award. As Builder Company of the Year, Garman Builders Inc. was honored as an accomplished home builder that provides quality craftsmanship, exceptional customer service and positive employee relations, while serving and supporting its local community and industry. Garman Builders, Renovations, was named Remodeling Company of the Year for being an accomplished remodeling company that provides quality craftsmanship, exceptional customer service and positive employee relations, while serving and supporting the local community and industry. GR Mitchell won Supply Company of the Year, presented to an accomplished supply company that provides quality products and services for its customers, while conveying a positive attitude through exceptional customer service, employee relations and community and industry involvement. Garman Builders Inc. won the Community Impact Award for having made a significant impact in its community through charitable contributions, action programs, projects and education.

In the Remodeling Project Achievement Awards, TK Building & Design won Best Addition Over $250,000; Best Bathroom Remodel Under $50,000; Best Bathroom Remodel, $50,000 to $100,000; Best Exterior Project Over $100,000; and Best Interior Project, $50,000 to $100,000. Metzler Home Builders Inc. won Best Basement Remodel Under $100,000; Best Outdoor Living Project, $50,000 to $100,000; and Best Whole House Remodel, $250,000 to $500,000. Garman Builders, Renovations won Best Basement Remodel $100,000 to $250,000; Best Outdoor Living Project Over $100,000; and Best Whole House Remodel Over $500,000. Other winners were Eby Exteriors for Best Outdoor Living Project Under $50,000 and Best Specialty Project as well as Jemson Cabinetry Inc. for Best Kitchen Remodel Under $50,000.

Entries with the highest point percentage in each of the main award categories receive Elite Pillar Awards. These awards were the Elite Marketing Achievement Award for Best Showroom, Garman Builders Inc.; Elite Company Achievement Award for Supply Company of the Year, GR Mitchell; Elite Remodeling Project Achievement Award for Best Basement Remodel Under $100,000, Metzler Home Builders Inc.
