Young Dramatists To Present Mystery Comedy At L-S By Dayna M. Reidenouer
“Bring your children. They’ll have a blast,” said Taylor Straley. “The humor is good for all ages. (The characters are) people just being buffoons,” added Jillian Pontz. Taylor and Jillian are part of the cast that will present Rollin W. Coyle’s mystery comedy “Come Out of the Closet” in the Performing Arts Center at Lampeter-Strasburg (L-S) High School, 1600 Book Road, Lancaster, on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Nov. 7, 8, and 9, at 7 p.m. The story takes place in a New York City boardinghouse in the 1950s and revolves around three young women who have moved from Ohio to pursue careers in acting and stenography. Wesley United Methodist Church (UMC), 40 W. Main St., Strasburg, will host fundraisers for collective and personal causes, as well as several other events.
A chicken potpie dinner will take place on Friday, Oct. 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall, 46 W. Main St., and a benefit for a church member with leukemia will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 5 to 10 p.m. in See Wesley UMC pg 3
At age 29, after four successful years with the Baltimore Ravens and three with the St. Louis Rams, center Jason Brown walked away from football and into an entirely unrelated career. Some people, when they retire, become “gentleman farmers,” with a few acres and a handful of cattle that they can manage with low stress and minimal effort. Jason and his wife, Tay, had a much bigger dream, and they bought a 1,000-acre farm in Louisburg, N.C. The one problem? Neither Jason nor Tay had experience farming.
