Refton Brethren in Christ (BIC) Church, 110 Church St., Refton, has announced a transition in leadership. After serving the congregation for 17 years, lead pastor Mike Anderson has retired. On Nov. 1, 2019, Anderson’s vacated position was filled by Scott MacFeat Jr., who had been serving Refton BIC as director of student ministries, community groups, and technology for the past several years. MacFeat is a 2007 graduate of Lancaster Bible College (LBC), and he recently graduated from Capital Seminary at LBC with a master’s degree in biblical studies. Joey Shiffer was hired in November to fill MacFeat’s vacated role and has the title of director of student and digital ministry. LBC student Mark Freisleben is working with Shiffer as a student ministry intern.

“Both Joey and Mark have a great passion for connecting students to Jesus,” MacFeat commented. Mike Hall joined the church staff in April 2019 as the worship leader. He and his wife, Marcia, have served in ministry for many years, including pastoral ministry and missionary work in Kenya and Trinidad. The church staff is rounded out by office administrator Sonia Bridge. “She has become a crucial part of our team,” MacFeat remarked. Bridge and her husband, Jim, served on the mission field in Honduras for three years. “Ever since I started as the lead pastor of Refton BIC, our team of staff and leaders has been incredibly helpful and excited to move forward with new ideas,” MacFeat said. “It’s been very encouraging for me to see their

new or having a clean slate; it’s about the need for us to understand the fundamental story of Jesus, which starts on the first pages of the Bible,” MacFeat explained. He noted that the series will examine the core Bible messages that answer questions of who God is, who See Refton BIC pg 2

township residents sometime in February. Donations received by the Friends of the Force will be used to purchase supplies needed by the WLTPD that are not covered in its taxpayer-funded budget. The Friends of the Force have spent a total of $175,597 on equipment and training for the WLTPD since March 2010, with the majority coming since January 2015. “(The Friends’ support) allows us to provide service to the community without impacting the tax base,” said WLTPD Chief Brian Wiczkowski. “$175,597 that was all voluntary donations. It’s humbling. It’s not easy to get people to donate that money. It’s hard to express in words how much it means to us.” See Friends Of The Force pg 3

“We have a responsibility to make disciples in every space (including online),” said Addison Roberts, youth and online pastor for Grace Community Church of Willow Street (GCCWS), referencing the Great Commission. “I’m excited about people finding Jesus who might otherwise never step into a church.” Roberts has coupled a passion to reach people with the Gospel with an interest in internet technology and mixing music. About seven years ago Roberts got into Twitch and livestreaming Madden. Although he discontinued actively broadcasting his video games, the experience had given him an understanding of how livestreams worked. Five years ago, Roberts joined the staff at GCCWS. In 2018, lead pastor Mike Sigman asked Roberts to spearhead the production of livestreamed worship services and enhance the church’s online outreach. See Online Church Campus pg 6
