ANNUAL FUNDRAISER

The crafters group at Woodcrest Villa will host its third annual craft event on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the VIVA Centre’s Gamber Auditorium, 2001 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster. Staff members, residents, and their relatives will also take part, and hot food and baked goods will be available for purchase. FALL FESTIVAL

Faith United Methodist Church, 1290 Fruitville Pike, Lititz, will host a fall festival on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will be moved indoors in the case of inclement weather. Activities will include pumpkin-themed games, pumpkin decorating, face painting, and a photo booth. Pumpkin and apple baked goods will be available for purchase, along with hot dogs. To preorder pumpkin pies, apple pies, or pumpkin rolls by Saturday, Nov. 10, readers may call the church office at 717-560-0321.

Christmas In The Country Bazaar Planned The 41st annual Christmas in the Country bazaar and craft show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, at Church of the Apostles United Church of Christ (UCC), 1850 Marietta Ave., Lancaster. The bazaar typically draws more than 1,000 visitors each year and boasts 60-plus juried crafters who are carefully selected for each new show. This year’s bazaar will include many longtime and new vendors who will feature crafts such as handmade wreaths, baskets, pillows, stained glass decorations, jewelry, paintings and other artwork, doll clothes, holiday and seasonal ornaments and decor, hand-carved wood novelties, and more. In addition to the crafters, the bazaar will include the Apostles Crafters Room, which will offer

handmade craft items created throughout the year by church members. There will also be a Corner Cupboard with jams, jellies, candies, and other homemade treats. Food will be available in the fellowship hall throughout the event. The menu will include soups, sandwiches, hot dogs, barbecue, beverages, and a large variety of homemade baked goods. The soups for sale will be vegetable beef, vegetarian chili, and chicken corn. An assortment of homemade pies and apple dumplings will once again be made by the Bischoff family and members of the Apostles choir. This year, pie varieties will include apple, blueberry, sweet and sour cherry, and pumpkin. A selection of sugar-free pies and dumplings will also be available. See Christmas In The Country pg 2

CRAFTING EVENT

The Circle Legacy Center will present its next Second Friday program, “Making Native American Arts and Crafts,” on Nov. 9 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Community Mennonite Church, 328 W. Orange St., Lancaster. Attendees will make dream catchers, leather pouches and other crafts, with instruction provided by Circle Legacy board members. Fees have been set for craft items, and participants are invited to bring a potluck item to share. Beverages will be provided, and donations will be accepted. Attendees should enter the basement via the last door on Concord Street.

Lancaster County Fossil and Mineral Club members will display an array of fossils, minerals, crystals, and gems at the fifth annual fall show, which will be held in Mountville on Nov. 10.
