Hempfield Trio Wrestles In State Championships

Hempfield’s Reagan LeFevrer mixes it up with Shermuhammad Sadriddinov of Council Rock South in a 2-0, 145-pound, quarterfinal loss in the PIAA Championships in Hershey’s Giant Center on March 10. LeFevrer bounced back with a 5-1 win over West Chester Henderson’s Palmer Delaney in his first consolation bout, but then lost, 4-2, to Hempfield Area’s Lucas Kapusta in his next consolation match to finish the tournament, 1-2.

Hempfield sophomore Seamus Mack works on Anthony Ferraro of Pine-Richland in a 126-pound preliminary-round bout in the PIAA Championships in Hershey on March 10. Mack dropped the opener to Ferraro, 5-0, but then came back with three-straight consolation-round victories - a 1:51 fall against Matthew Ricci of Garnet Valley, and 3-0 and 3-2 UTB decisions over Easton’s Oliver Fairchild and Clearfield’s Brady Collins, before suffering an 8-0 loss to Zander Phaturos of Waynesburg Central in his fourth consolation outing. In his final bout of the competition, Mack was blanked, 7-0, by Chambersburg senior Karl Shindledecker to finish the tournament with a 3-3 record and the eighth-place medal.

Hempfield’s Jorden Williams battles Council Rock South’s Luke Reitter for a takedown in a 106pound quarterfinal bout at the PIAA Championships in Hershey’s Giant Center on March 10. Williams was edged by Reitter, 2-0, and then dropped his next consolation-round bout, 7-3, to Ridley’s Curtis Nelson to finish the tournament, 0-2.
