The Gen. John H. Michaelis Chapter 327 Korean War Veterans Association (KWVA) will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 12, in Eagle Commons at Woodcrest Villa, 2001 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster. The meeting will begin at noon with a free luncheon. The program will be a video titled “The War and the Memories/In the Line of Fire.” Membership in the KWVA is open to all men and women who have served in Korea at any time from 1945 to the present or who were in uniform serving anywhere from June 25, 1950, to Jan. 31, 1955. hope - even better than ever. The offerings for the event, which has drawn thousands of competitors and spectators to the Marriott Hotel,

Lancaster Contra Dance will take place on Saturday, Feb. 15, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 321 W. Chestnut St., Lancaster, from 7 to 10 p.m. This is a group social dance for people of all ages with a different live band and caller each month. This month, Abigail Hobart will be calling with the band Contra Rebels. Equestrians with caring hearts and calm, steady mounts make up the Middle Creek Search & Rescue (MIDSAR) horse team. MIDSAR is 100% volunteer-run and was started in 1994 by Randy Mower and Mike Musser; the

horse team formed the following year. The organization covers southcentral Pennsylvania, including Lancaster, Lebanon, York, Dauphin, Schuylkill, Berks, and Chester counties. The team has also been called to Adams County. Currently, 10 people and their horses are part of the mounted team. See MIDSAR Horse Team pg 4

The sixth annual Rose and Shamrock Festival and Feis will be held in downtown Lancaster on Feb. 14 to 16. The event will offer free spectator admission to Irish dance and music competitions, as well as concerts, history presentations, and Celtic-themed vendors.
