New Dog Rescue Seeks Fosters, Volunteers BY FRANCINE FULTON

he Davis Dog Farm is a new, nonprofit all-breed rescue located in Grantville that has a mission to provide a safe haven for dogs until they can find their forever homes.

Currently, the rescue is in need of local residents willing to foster a dog or volunteer at the facility as a dog walker or someone who visits with the dogs until they are permanently adopted. A number of dogs that have been rescued by the organization are also available for adoption.

The annual Seven Sorrows Festival, featuring a car show, a flea market, children’s games, homemade food, musical entertainment and more, will take place on Thursday through Saturday, Aug. 19 to 21, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary (BVM) Parish in Middletown. The festival will open on Aug. 19 with a car show and music provided by DJ Joe T. New this year on Thursday will be a food truck event. Vendors will include Sittin’ Pickin’ Chickin’, The Lucky Penny Burger Co., Marsico’s A Taste of Italy, Grappling Crab Shack, 717 Tacos and Sunset Slush.
