Book Inspires Career Choice When John Banaszek was a boy, he decided he wanted to become an architect after repeatedly borrowing Middletown Public Library’s copy of “Architecture: Residential Drawing and Design.” Today, Banaszek is an architect living in Gettysburg.
He recently visited Middletown because he wanted to own the book - the exact copy that inspired him years ago. Library director John Grayshaw gave Banaszek the book in exchange for another copy that Banaszek donated.
The Hershey History Center’s newly unveiled train layout depicts downtown Hershey and the surrounding countryside as it was in the 1920s.
History Center Unveils Model Railroad he Hershey History Center opened a new exhibit, “Return of the Chocolate Town Special,” on July 10. The exhibit will continue through December. This 1920s scene of rural life features three N-scale model trains that depict the Lebanon branch of the Reading Railroad and the significance of this transportation on the vitality and growth of the community. Models of historic Hershey buildings,

Library Director Bids Farewell Hershey Public Library director Laura O’Grady is heading to a new position in August, but she leaves behind a chapter full of accomplishments at Derry Township’s library. During her tenure, O’Grady led the renovation of the library, which resulted in a brand-new youth services wing and reading garden. The project was supported by the Hershey Library Endowment Trust, the Friends of Hershey Public Library, and the Keystone Grant for Public Library Facilities, guided by the library staff and community.
