The Canticle Bells at Palmyra Church of the Brethren, 45 N. Chestnut St., Palmyra, is recruiting handbell ringers for the upcoming ringing season. Participants do not need to be a member of Palmyra Church of the Brethren to participate. The group rehearses on Wednesdays at 7:15 p.m. and will start on Wednesday, Aug. 29. The group rings on the first Sunday of the month during the 9 a.m. worship service, with additional Sundays added around Christmas, Easter, and Music Appreciation Sunday. Event Raises Funds For Scholarships The first Team Meghan 3K Walk and Silent Auction to benefit the Meghan M. Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund was held on June 16 at Cassel Vineyards of Hershey. Close to 130 walkers and volunteers gathered to raise funds and to honor and celebrate the life of Meghan M. Johnson and the impact she had on many people. Radio personality Patsy Sympson was the master of ceremonies. Information about the event and the
scholarship fund is available at www.teammeghan.org. A 2017 graduate of Lower Dauphin High School in Hummelstown, Meghan M. Johnson passed away on Nov. 21, 2017, after a long battle with Stage 4 glioblastoma brain cancer. She was five days shy of her 19th birthday. Scholarships are being awarded to two members of the Lower Dauphin High School Class of 2018 and will continue
every year in perpetuity. The scholarship committee’s goal is to expand the Meghan M. Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund to several other Pennsylvania high schools in 2019.

Rotary Marks 75 Years Of Service Home And Garden Tour Planned
CROATIAN PICNIC
St. Mary’s Preservation Society will hold its annual Croatian picnic on Sunday, Aug. 5, from noon to 8 p.m. at Cibort Park, Center and Penn streets, Bressler. A Croatian-language Mass with hymns and tambura will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Admission and parking will be free. The picnic will feature roast lamb and pork, cevapcici, sarma, and other ethnic foods. Live music will be performed all day by Tambura Orchestra 8601 and the Polka Whooo orchestra. A children’s play area, games, and face painting will be available.

More than 100 Rotarians gathered to reflect on the club’s history and commit to its future success. Rotary clubs in the 2018-19 Rotary year. The Rotary Club of Hershey includes approximately 130 men and women of different ages and backgrounds who are committed to making a difference in the community and the world. The Mount Gretna Tour of Homes and Gardens will showcase sites of various sizes and styles on Saturday, Aug. 4. The Mount Gretna Tour of Homes and Gardens is slated for Saturday, Aug. 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The self-guided walking tour will include homes and gardens of various sizes and styles, including an original 1892 Chautauqua cottage. In addition, tourgoers will have the opportunity to
travel by trolley to one home, and artist studios will be open for attendees to explore. Volunteers at the Historical Society Museum will be on hand to answer questions about Mount Gretna, and Chautauqua homeowners will offer food and beverages at the Hall of Philosophy. will hold their annual 4-H Fair on Thursday, Aug. 9, through Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex, 2300 N. Cameron St., Harrisburg. The free 4-H Fair is open to the public on Aug. 9 from noon to 7 p.m.; on Friday, Aug. 10, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and on Aug. 11 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The 4-H Fair is an exhibition of 4-H Animal, Family Living, and Opportunities projects.
