Friends Summer Film Festival will occur at the Hershey Public Library, 701 Cocoa Ave., Hershey, at 2 p.m. on Sundays in July. The series will feature family-friendly movies based on the following books: “Cloudy With a Chance of Mealtballs” on July 7, “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” on July 14, “Hugo” on July 21, and “Night at the Museum” on July 28. Students Attend Leadership Conference A total of 138 high school seniors attended the 59th annual Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Conference held from June 9 to 13 at Messiah College in Grantham. Rotary District 7390 holds the annual conference for seniors who are selected and interviewed by the 42 Rotary Clubs in the district. Rotary District 7390 encompasses Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, and York counties. The five-day conference featured speakers, team-building activities and fun. At the end of the conference, the students voted on the top eight conferees. Seven of the students received the Lloyd Bollinger Award, a $500 cash award. These honorees were Ian Mills of Hershey High School, Cody Perrin of East Pennsboro

Area High School, Angelina Torres of Middletown Area High School, Erin Williams of Palmyra Area High School, Matt Keebler of Lancaster Catholic High School, Frankie White of Dover Area High School, and Lucas Winslow of Annville-Cleona High School. The top conferee was awarded the William E. and Violet W. Nitrauer Leadership Award, a $750 cash award. The recipient this year was Lindsay Aluquin, Hershey High School. Police Officers Mentor Children First Listen Concerts Planned

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region recently held a law enforcement education and activity day for participants in its “Bigs in Blue” program.

Stoverdale United Methodist Church, Wood and Middletown roads, Hummelstown, will welcome the Crossover Quartet for gospel music and ministry on Saturday, July 13, at 6 p.m. Light refreshments will follow the concert. Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region (BBBSCR) held a law enforcement education and activity day for participants in BBBSCR’s “Bigs in Blue” program at HACC’s Sen. John J. Shumaker Public Safety Center. Through BBBSCR’s “Bigs in Blue” program, police officers become mentors to children and young adults at schools in the communities they protect and serve. Each police officer meets with his or her
