LDHS Students To Continue Athletic Careers ower Dauphin High School (LDHS) student-athletes announced their college decisions during a Letter of Intent Day ceremony in the school on May 10. Darius Machingo, the son of Debbie Clifton, joined the baseball team this year after moving from Virginia, where he earned several awards. He will attend Ursinus College to major in health and exercise physiology. Will Nelson, the son of Bill and Wendy Nelson, was a four-year member of the baseball team. He will attend St. Mary’s College of Maryland to major in psychology. Aidyn Gingrich, the son of Ryon and Shannon Gingrich, is a fouryear letter winner in football. He will attend Lebanon Valley College to major in history. Ethan Miller, the son of Heather and Ken Miller, is a three-year letter

four-year member of the volleyball team and also serves as manager for the girls’ volleyball team. He will attend Messiah University to major in computer science. Craig Patrick II, the son of Craig and Natine Patrick, is a four-year member of the volleyball team. He will attend Lancaster Bible College to major in business management. Derick Colon Santiago, the son of Glendaly Santiago Colon and Herrberto Colon Marcano, became a member of the volleyball team when he transferred to Lower Dauphin from Puerto Rico. He will attend Elizabethtown College to major in chemistry. Carter Powell, the son of Kristen and Eddie Powell, is a four-year member of the wrestling team and a varsity letter winner. He will attend York College to major in sports management.

The Hershey Lions Club recently assisted the Hershey History Center, home of the Hershey-Derry Township Historical Society, with its beautification project. With the exception of 2020, the Hershey Lions have for several years assisted this Derry Township organization with sprucing up the exterior of its building. This location is also now the home of the Hershey Lions Club. Twelve members of the Hershey Lions Club worked on May 14 to weed, edge, and apply organic mulch at the center’s barn. The Hershey Lions Club presented a $1,000 scholarship to Hershey High School student Samantha Koegler, daughter of Dawn and Stephen Koegler Jr. The funds will go toward Samantha’s continued education. The club announced Koegler’s selection for the scholarship during its
