TURKEY DINNER

Evangelical United Methodist Church, 157 E. Water St., Middletown, invites the public to a roast turkey dinner with all the trimmings on Monday, Feb. 17, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. The menu will include stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, dessert with a valentine treat, and a beverage. Lower Dauphin Middle School seventh-graders Eva Jefferis, Ella Giannascoli, and Meghan O’Brien and South Hanover Elementary School fourth-grader Casey O’Brien and third-grader Sarina Parker were recognized at their schools recently by Lower Dauphin Communities That Care and Hummelstown Police. When a fire struck a home last summer in the Meadows of Hanover development in South Hanover Township, the five girls held a bake sale to benefit the family that had been affected. The students were recognized with December Do the Right Thing awards. Each girl received a gift card, a T-shirt, a certificate, and a pizza coupon. See Students pg 3

Ed Martel, tour guide for Union Canal Tunnel Park, will present a historical overview of the canal, including its construction, use and local impact. The Association of Faculty and Friends (AFF) and the Advanced Practice Providers of the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Penn State College of Medicine are collaborating with the Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank in hosting the annual Valentine’s Day blood drive on Friday, Feb. 14. The goal for this year’s event is to collect 300 pints of blood. Registration will be held in the main lobby of Hershey Medical Center, 500 University Drive, Hershey, between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Free parking is available in the Centerview Garage.
