GSPA To Stage “Best Christmas Pageant Ever” By Ann Mead Ash
Josh Martin, director of the Garden Spot Performing Arts (GSPA) fall play, had never heard of “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” but when students in GSPA began requesting the lighthearted show with a serious message, Martin decided the time had come to tell an overtly Christmas tale in a one-hour, family-friendly format. “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” will be presented at Garden Spot High School (GSHS), 669 E. Main St., New Holland, at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, and Saturday, Nov. 23, as well as at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24. The fast-moving story is based on a children’s book by Barbara Robinson from the late 1970s that was turned into a television movie in the early 1980s and eventually adapted to a stage play.
