Misfits on a Mission Relay For Life team will host a Big Apple bus trip on Sunday, Dec. 2. Transportation will depart at 7 a.m. from the parking area at Walmart, located on Route 322 just off Route 222, Ephrata, and return at approximately 10 p.m. Attendees will be able to enjoy the day in New York City on their own. Teenagers will be paired up and use only three ingredients to create an appetizer and dessert. No cooking is required. A materials fee, payable at the door, includes the ingredients. For Jeremy Leaman, founder and director of Ten Million for Christ, who grew up on a farm south of Strasburg, the invitation to lead a Youth Evangelism Service (YES) team to Romania as part of Eastern Mennonite Missions became a life-changing opportunity. “From the spring of 1993 to the summer of 1994, (our team) worked with churches there,� said Jeremy, whose team started a Christian student movement and a church during the 15-month outreach. “I fell in love with the people, the culture, the language, the food, and the beauty of the countryside.� In the fall of 2000, Jeremy returned to Romania, and he fell in love again. “That’s when I fell in love with my wife, Gabriella,� explained Jeremy, noting that Gabriella is from Galati. Judges Named For Essay Contest Engle Printing & Publishing Co., Inc. (EPC) has announced the panel that will evaluate the entries in the 2018 Children’s Essay Contest. Panelists will include Jim Martin, sales representative at Power Pro Equipment in New Holland; Marie Hoover, manager of Musser’s Specialty Foods in Goodville; and John Hemperly, sales manager at EPC. Youths ages 11 to 14 may enter the annual contest by submitting original essays of 300 or fewer words on the topic “A Christmas Surprise.� Winners will be announced in a special section published in the Wednesday, Dec. 5, edition of the newspaper. $500 in cash prizes will be awarded. To meet the growing need in the community, COBYS Family Services purchased a building on Murry Hill Circle in Lancaster and moved a number of staff to that location. Christened the Murry Hill Center, the building is the site of monthly foster parenting orientation classes, as well as adoption and foster care services.

foster care agency with foster families in private homes,� said Fitzkee. Terre Hill Mayor Bob Rissler wants area residents to have the information they need to prevent drinking water contamination.
