The “Read ‘em Up and Eat ‘em Up” Autumn Reading Program will run through Wednesday, Nov. 30, for children age 12 and under. Details are available at the library.

The Friends Book Sale will be held on Tuesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the library, with evening hours until 7 p.m. on Oct. 18 and Nov. 1 and 15. Weekly sales will end Nov. 15 and begin again in 2023.

Young At Heart, for people age 60 and up, will be sponsored by REAL Life Community Services on Wednesday, Oct. 19, from 9 to 11 a.m. For details, call 717-336-7797 or visit www.reallcs.org.

Story time programs will include “Twinkling Stars” Baby Story Time on Thursdays for children from birth to age 2 and Budding Bookworms Preschool Story Time on Wednesdays for children ages 3 to 6, with Brecknock Elementary Principal Story Time on Oct. 12. Story times will start at 10 a.m. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

“The Young and the Restless” Toddler Time for children ages 2 to 3 with an adult will take place on Thursdays from 10:30 to 11 a.m., with Pumpkin Guts Toddler Time on Thursday, Oct. 27.

Tech Q & A, offering one-to-one help with devices, will be offered on Wednesday, Oct. 5, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Technology help and software training is also available at other times by appointment.

Drop-In STEM will be held on Monday, Oct. 10, from 2 to 5 p.m. for Lego Club and Adventure! Deep Space, featuring games, activities, and projects with Miss Maribeth. An adult is required to accompany children under age 8.

Other activities are as follows: Lego activity bag pickup for children ages 5 to 12 on Oct. 10, while supplies last, with one packet per family; the Genealogy Group on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 6:30 p.m.; Daytime Discoverers at Middle Creek Wildlife Center on Thursday, Oct. 13, at 1 p.m.; and the free Teen Take-and-Make packet pickup on Monday, Oct. 17, while supplies last.

National Friends of the Library Week will run from Sunday, Oct. 16, through Saturday, Oct. 22. The community is invited to stop in the library to celebrate women who are members of the library’s Friends group. The first 70 children who stop by will receive a gift.

Almost Perfect Crimes, for teens and adults, will take place via Zoom on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 6:30 p.m. Participants will initially receive the Zoom link and the mini murder mystery story. Additional clues and evidence will be revealed during the meeting.

The library will have a table at the Trunk or Treat at Adamstown YMCA, 71 E. Main St., on Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. On Trick or Treat Night, Monday, Oct. 31, children may stop by the library in their costume from 6 to 8 p.m. for a surprise.

Medicare open enrollment assistance will take place on Monday, Oct. 31, and Thursday, Nov. 10, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the community room by appointment only. Volunteer counselors with Lancaster County Office of Aging’s PA MEDI program will meet individually with beneficiaries who already have Medicare to
