Rides, Games, Food, Music, and Fireworks

For 2025, Terre Hill Days has moved from July to June, with four days of fun, including rides for children, arcade games, fair food, and plenty of musical entertainment

planned from Thursday, June 26, through Sunday, June 29. “We will have a nice assortment of activities and entertainment,” pointed out organizer John Styer.

“We will have things for the kids and things for the adults.”

Quality entertainment has been

a focus for event organizers for the last several years. Rides, games, and food trucks will open at 5 p.m. on June 26, and the entertainment schedule will kick off at 6 p.m. with the sounds of Cheyenne Pohl with Clockwork Band. “Cheyenne and Clockwork Band are from the

Reading area,” noted Styer. “They will play oldies and current songs, and it will be a fun, high-energy show.” The evening will also include free face painting and a magic show by Mr. Sneakers.

On Friday, June 27, the event will open at 5 p.m., and the

magic of Papa Tater will begin at 5:30 p.m. Cathro’s Critters will return to the venue at 6 p.m., and the free Classic Car Cruise, which is held rain or shine each year, will open at 6 p.m. Ironwood Drive will play bluegrass on the main stage beginning at 6 p.m.

Coming up - Outdoor Concerts

Craft Show To Support Musical Endeavors

For many years, the New Holland Community Memorial Park has been the site of multiple weekly outdoor concerts made possible by the New Holland Summer Arts Program (NHSAP). For the summer of 2025, NHSAP has once again lined up nearly 20 events with musical groups ranging from rock’n’roll to Celtic music to cover bands and bluegrass music. Eight new acts will be featured at the venue, located in the 400 block of Jackson Street in New Holland.

Summer Field Day Moves to Park

The New Holland Community Memorial Park is a center of attention during the warmer months. The park, located in the 400 block of Jackson Street in New Holland, attracts members of the community who use the pool, tennis and pickleball courts, golf course, and playground equipment.

According to Ralph Hess, president of the Red Rose Repeater Association (RRR), the amount of foot traffic through the park

on a summer weekend makes it an ideal location for the 92nd Summer Field Day, officially known as Amateur Radio Field Day. “It’s a family day for everybody,” noted Hess, adding that there will be a craft show in the park on the first day of the event. “(Some family members) can go to the craft show,” he pointed out. Summer Field Day is a more than 24-hour event that gives hams - as amateur radio operators are known - a chance to demonstrate radio’s ability to create reliable communications

Entertainment at Terre Hill Days will include a number of musical groups along with magic shows and demonstrations.
The New Holland Summer Arts Program committee is preparing to hold the annual craft fair in the park to help support the concerts that will be presented over the summer.

As in the past, all concerts will begin at 7 p.m. with the exception of the Mitch and the MoodSwings show on Saturday, Aug. 16, which will begin at 6:30 p.m.

wooden signs, ceramics, paintings, and crocheted items.

As is NHSAP tradition, the summer concert series will kick off with a patriotic concert on Thursday, July 3. The 2025 concert, followed by a fireworks display, will feature the West Chester Band. The rain date for the concert and fireworks will be Sunday, July 6. The Fiddlers Picnic, which will be held on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1, will conclude the series. This year, the picnic will open with Summit Hill Bluegrass at 10 a.m., followed by open stage time. The country, gospel, and

To keep the music playing, NHSAP holds an annual craft show in the park on the fourth Saturday of June. This year’s show will be held on Saturday, June 28, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Organizer Sue Noll expects to have more than 80 vendors display at the event. “Last year, we had 104 (vendors at the show),” stated Noll. Among this year’s vendors will be those selling plants, handcrafted soaps, kitchen towels, candles, handpainted stones, notebooks, and fabric-wrapped bowls.

Other crafters will include those who make bracelets, glass accessories, wreaths,

Food items for purchase at the craft show will be provided by Mocha Motion Coffee, W Donuts, Spud Muffin, and Lickity Split. For 2025, concerts will be held weekly on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Among the many acts that will be featured will be Flamin’ Dick and the Hot Rods, Amber Rae & The Swinging Foxes, Elvis impersonator Jeff Krick, the Nomads, Fire in the Glen, Six-String Soldiers, and Nick Ferraro & The All Stars.

Food at the concerts will be provided by a number of food trucks. “We will have a variety,” said Noll, who noted that a food truck and an ice cream truck offering items for purchase will be at each show. As in the past, the New Holland Lions Club food trailer will be at the Fiddlers Picnic.

More information and a full schedule of events may be found at https://newholland summerarts.com. Each event will also be posted on the NHSAP Facebook page, which may be found by searching for “New Holland Summer Arts Association.” NHSAP welcomes volunteers and donations. independent of commercial networks from almost anywhere. This year’s field day will be held on Saturday, June 28, and Sunday, June 29, with activities beginning at 8 a.m. on June 28 and continuing through 2 p.m. on June 29. Since 1933, amateur radio operators across North America have established temporary radio stations in public locations during field day to showcase the science and skill of amateur radio. As in the past, the hobby invites interested persons to experiment with electronics and communications techniques. Hams also provide a free public service to communities

during a disaster or emergency - all without needing a cellphone or the internet. Hess noted that those who are interested in learning about antennae setup will want to be at the park early on June 28. “If people want to see how to set up antennas and stations, they should come from 8 to noon,” said Hess. “This is the best chance in a year to see ham radio operation up close and in person and how it works from beginner to expert level,” said Hess. “All facets of the hobby are on display, and it’s not 12 degrees out,” he added, referencing the Winter Field Day held at the end of January each year. Foundation To Offer Medical Scholarships

For nearly 35 years, the Lancaster Medical Society Foundation has presented scholarships to medical students. This year, the foundation is opening the pool to include applicants not just from Lancaster County, but also those with a strong connection to the Lancaster community. Any student who is accepted or continuing a medical degree at an accredited medical school and has connections to Lancaster County may apply. Applicants must also demonstrate academic achievement, exhibit leadership and motivation, show an interest in meeting societal needs, and desire to potentially serve Lancaster County residents as a future physician.

Supported by the Lancaster County medical community, including local hospitals, group practices, individual medical society members, businesses, and individuals, the foundation has awarded over $300,000 in funds since its establishment in 1991.

Applications must be postmarked by Tuesday, July 1. The awards will be announced in September. For more information or to obtain an application, visit www.lancaster medicalsociety.org or call 717-393-9588.
