s the New Holland Summer Arts Program (NHSAP) returns to the park for 2022, organizers have lined up more than 20 concerts, with several musical acts that are new to the park venue. Performances will be held three times per week in the New Holland Community Memorial Park, located in the 400 block of Jackson Street in New Holland. Concerts will begin at 7 p.m., with the exception of the Saturday, Aug. 13, show, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. The season will begin with the New Holland Concert Band on Monday, July 4. The concert will be followed by fireworks. The rain date for that event will be Tuesday, July 5. Performances will conclude with the annual Labor Day Fiddler’s Picnic on Monday, Sept. 5. Craft Show Will Help Cover Concert Costs the park on Saturday, June 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. NHSAP reprsentative Sue Noll said organizers have lined up more than 80 vendors for the rain-or-shine event. Among the vendors will be those selling jewelry, repurposed wood crafts, plants and planters, rice bags, pot holders, soy candles, repurposed glass garden art, wreaths, centerpieces, floral arrangements, soaps, handcrafted leather items, hiking sticks, dog bandanas, ornamental iron work, artisan clothing, functional pottery, and weather whirlygigs. Crafters will donate items to a Chinese auction, which will be held at the event. In addition to the vendors, face painting by donation will be offered from 9 to 11 a.m. A signed and numbered Myrtle Tremblay print of the Robert Fulton Birthplace located on Robert Fulton Highway in Quarryville will be at the show for viewing. The framed print, which measures 27 by 32 inches, will be given away as a prize at the Fiddler’s Picnic. See NHSAP pg 4

Cavod Academy offers a variety of classes in dance, voice, and more, with an emphasis on “creating with purpose.” An essential goal of the organization is to offer students a godly environment that inspires excellence in the arts while building community and impacting lives. During the eighth-grade awards and promotion ceremony held at Garden Spot Middle School (GSMS) on the evening of June 2, an eighthgrade boy and an eighth-grade girl each received the annual American Legion Award.
