will host a chicken barbecue sale on Saturday, May 25, at Horst Farm Market, 640 Reading Road, East Earl, and at Weaver’s Store, 1011 Dry Tavern Road, Denver. The sale will run from 9 a.m. until sold out. Chicken dinners, halfchickens, and legs will be sold. The cost of a dinner will include chicken, a baked potato, a roll, applesauce, coleslaw, and a beverage.

was referring to this year’s Music Sunday, a musical event that will include featured soloist Dr. Jun Chon, a duet between Chon and Kissinger, and organ, choir, and bell choir selections. COMMUNITY GATHERING
Jewish Family Services (JFS) of Lancaster will present a program on “Hate in Lancaster County” on Sunday, June 2, at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary of Congregation Shaarai Shomayim, 75 E. James St., Lancaster. The free program will address the community’s response to hatred directed at individuals and groups in Lancaster County. A reception will follow.

A concert, a parade, food, a commemorative service and a display of historical items will all be part of Memorial Day in Churchtown on Monday, May 27. Memorial Day events have been taking place in Churchtown since 1866. The annual Memorial Day observance will include a concert at the Caernarvon Township Fire Company, 2145 Main St., Narvon, featuring the ELANCO Elementary Band at 6:15 p.m. Also at the firehouse, food will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. Offered for sale by the fire company ladies’ auxiliary will be hot dogs with sauerkraut, soups, homemade desserts and beverages, including coffee, soda and water.
