Making An Impact - Virtually CrossNet Presents Video Banquet And Calls Community To Prayer By Ann Mead Ash

Meredith Dahl, executive director of CrossNet Ministries in New Holland, is clear on what New Holland needs during the COVID-19 crisis. “Encouragement, support, and prayer … that’s a big piece of what we’re offering right now,” said Dahl, who noted that the ministry is working to battle discouragement among area residents. Currently, the ministry is running its food pantry by appointment and distributing Power Packs on Wednesdays.

Joan Yunginger, director of social services with CrossNet, and Aryn Burda, case and resource manager for CrossNet, are both handling intakes and helping people apply for benefits by phone. “Aryn and Joan are seeing an increase in call volume,” shared Dahl. On March 23, ministry representatives made the decision to cancel the organization’s annual banquet and breakfast. As part of the event, scheduled to take place Shady Maple on the evening of March 31 and the morning of April 1, CrossNet was slated to host 1,500 area residents who were looking forward to hearing Olympic champion and cancer survivor Scott Hamilton See CrossNet pg 6
