The Fine and Performing Arts Department at Lancaster Catholic High School (LCHS), 650 Juliette Ave., Lancaster, will present the George R. Schreck ‘47 and Barbara A. Schober ‘72 Memorial 2018-19 Concert and Lecture Series on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the Old Main Auditorium. The concert will feature Dr. Michael T. Jamanis, violin, and his parents, Michael Jamanis Sr. and Frances Veri, piano, performing works by the Viennese masters, including Mozart, Schubert, and Brahms. Admission is free. DISCUSSSION ON HEALTH

Lifetree Café, located at Emmaus Road Café, 1886 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, will discuss tips and strategies for losing weight and becoming healthy on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 7 p.m. Lifetree Café is a place where people gather for conversation about life and faith in a casual, comfortable setting. The program, titled “Hard to Be Healthy: TV’s ‘Biggest Loser’ Weighs In,” will include a filmed interview with Jaron Tate, a contestant on “The Biggest Loser.” Tate shares his secrets for losing more than 150 pounds and keeping the weight off. Members of the CrossNet team that took students from New Holland to Winter Blast at Camp Orchard Hill in 2018 gathered for prayer during the weekend-long event.

Students from the New Holland area who frequent the CrossNet Youth Center received scholarships to attend Winter Blast in 2018. The organization is seeking sponsors to allow up to 40 area students to attend the 2019 event on March 8, 9, and 10.

Aaron’s Acres Gears Up For Summer Camp Eye Associates Of Lancaster Opens New Holland Office

The Elverson Walking Club (EWC) will hold its annual Fire Tower Hike in French Creek State Park on Sunday, Feb. 10. The Fire Tower Hike is a 3-mile loop hike consisting of 2 miles to the tower, followed by an opportunity to toast marshmallows and hot dogs at the pavilion, and concluding with a 1-mile hike back to the vehicles. Attendees should bring their own marshmallows and hot dogs. Participants should meet hike leaders Allison Garl and Lynn Bates at the Fire Tower Road parking area at 11:30 a.m. Pets are welcome.
