E-town Grace Church, 305 Anchor Road, Elizabethtown, will host a Christmas Eve candle lighting service on Friday, Dec. 24, at 6 p.m. The event will include singing of traditional Christmas hymns as well as contemporary Christmas songs.

Recruitment efforts are currently underway for veterans interested in playing a critical role as volunteer mentors in Pennsylvania’s Veterans Treatment Court program. Volunteer veteran mentors serve as role models and coaches for justice-involved veterans participating in Veterans Courts.

Veterans Treatment Courts assist veteran defendants who are struggling with addiction, mental illness, or co-occurring disorders and who come into contact with the criminal justice system. Using the drug court model, these courts combine treatment and personal accountability, with the goal of breaking the cycle of addiction and criminal behavior.

Conference To Focus On Lewis, Tolkien Square Halo Books has announced that its newest conference, “The Inklings: Creativity, Collaboration, and Community,” will be held on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 11 and 12, at the Trust Performing Arts Center, 37 N. Market St., Lancaster.

Inspired by the fellowship of C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and their friends who gathered together to discuss

their writings, the conference will reflect on these writers’ works, while also providing creative and collaborative experiences for attendees throughout the weekend.

The weekend will include a variety of presenters, including writers, poets, actors, and artists. The keynote speaker will be Donald T. Williams, author of “Deeper Magic: The The-

ology Behind the Writings of C.S. Lewis,” a Square Halo book.

Other presenters will include writers Matthew Dickerson, Shawn Smucker, Douglas McKelvey, Christy Purifoy, Hannah Eagleson, and Graham Dennis; poet Christine Perrin; illustrator John Hendrix; and director Bonnie Bosso. The conference will conclude with a concert by singer-songwriter Andrew
