The 12th annual Gifts That Give Hope (GTGH) Lancaster Alternative Gift Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, in Landis Hall at The Junction Center, 1875 Junction Road, Manheim. Individuals may make charitable gift donations to any of 30 on-site nonprofits in honor of loved ones. Additionally, vendors will sell fair trade items, and there will be a scavenger hunt for children. Food will be available to purchase from local vendors. New this year, the Giving Hope Food Tour, for a fee, will offer a taste of dishes from eight food booths. Getting Into The Spirit With Christmas TreE-town By Chelsea Peifer
The Elizabethtown Area Chamber of Commerce (EACC) is aiming to make it simple for locals and visitors alike to discover and enjoy all that the local area has to offer this season through Christmas TreE-town. “Christmas TreE-town is really about community spirit,” said Natalie Dixon, EACC marketing manager. This is the second year that the Christmas TreE-town initiative will bring together local events happening from Black Friday, Nov. 29, through New Year’s Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 31, in the Elizabethtown area under one banner. “The goal (of Christmas TreE-town) is to have a community event with something for everybody,” noted Dixon. She explained that the idea is that residents may find out about

Marietta Restoration Associates (MRA) will present the 54th annual Marietta Candlelight Tour of Homes from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1, featuring eight private homes and numerous historic properties. “Each home has its own unique style and decor that showcases the owners’ personality, and we are excited to see how beautifully decorated the homes are this year,” said Jasmine Preston, event chair. “It is one of the longestrunning tours available in Lancaster County, and Marietta is proud of its success through the years.” See Candlelight Tour pg 4

The GateHouse At Riverview Tower Hosts Grand Opening Event By Chelsea Peifer

Eight private homes decorated for the holidays will be featured on the 54th annual Marietta Candlelight Tour of Homes on Dec. 1. Tourgoers may also visit historic properties including Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Old Town Hall Museum, Union Meeting House, Marietta Community House, and First National Escape.
The GateHouse is breathing new life into one of Marietta’s most recognizable historic properties. On Oct. 24, the organization hosted a grand opening celebration for the public at its newest facility: The GateHouse at Riverview Tower, located in the stately stone mansion that overlooks the intersection of routes 23 and 441 in Marietta. The GateHouse, a nonprofit addiction recovery after-care program that began in 1972 and operates facilities in Lititz, Mountville, and Lancaster city, purchased the historic Marietta property in March 2018.
