The Masonic Village, 1 Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, invites the community to several support groups. There is no cost to attend. The Dementia Caregiver Support and Education Group on Tuesday, Oct. 16, will focus on spiritual care. Mount Calvary Announces Benefit Auction By Chelsea Peifer

Mount Calvary Christian School (MCCS), which serves students in preschool through 12th grade, will hold its 26th annual benefit auction on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 28 and 29, at the school, 629 Holly St., Elizabethtown. The event will kick off on Sept. 28 with a barbecue dinner catered by a popular Mount Joy-based eatery. Dinner will be served from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., and takeout meals will be available in addition to the eat-in option. To purchase tickets in advance, interested individuals may call the school at 717-367-1649 by Monday, Sept. 24. Separate ticket prices have been set for adults and for children age 10 and under. A limited number of additional meals will be available on that evening for those who do not preorder.

At 6 p.m. on Sept. 28, the live auction will begin and will feature various experiences and vacation packages, as well as the highly anticipated class baskets created by each class from kindergarten through grade eight. Elementary students will perform songs at approximately 7 p.m. MCCS director of development April Miller said that the students remain on stage while their class basket is auctioned off, which adds an element of excitement for everyone. “The kids cheer while people are bidding, and it’s a lot of fun for all of the people in the audience,” said Miller. On Sept. 29, the day will begin with an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. The silent and live auctions will start at 9 a.m. Sports memorabilia, getaways, amusement park passes, sporting event tickets, toys, home decor, tools, and

The Star Barn Village Fall Harvest Day will take place from noon to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Stone Gables Estate, Newville Road, Elizabethtown. The event will celebrate the Star Barn, listed on the National Register of Historic Places and preserved in its entirety at Stone Gables Estate. The event will feature self-guided walking tour of the Star Barn Village, a petting zoo, yard games, music, refreshments, and more. Guests will receive a full-color commemorative Star Barn booklet with before and after photographs. Admission is free, but there is a fee for parking. Manheim resident Frank Stellar’s garden railway will be among the 10 featured tour sites throughout Lancaster, York, and Chester counties on the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania’s 12th annual Garden Railways Tour on Oct. 7. Among those will be Lancaster Farm Sanctuary; Music for Everyone, known for placing pianos throughout downtown Lancaster; Faith Friendship Ministries; and The Edible Classroom.
