we are so thankful for our readers and the local businesses and organizations that help to make our communities thrive Donegal High School Celebrates Homecoming Donegal High School senior Aysha Gibbs was crowned homecoming queen during ceremonies held on Oct. 30. The crowning ceremony took place prior to the school’s football game against Ephrata High School. Because of COVID-19 limitations, members of the homecoming court did not have a senior escort this year. Instead, they were escorted by their parents or a family member at the game. Also in attendance at the event was Betty Grillo, the 2019 homecoming queen. The event was livestreamed on the Donegal Athletics YouTube channel. Homecoming events held prior to the game included Spirit Week, which featured dress-up themed days. See Homecoming pg 2

distancing,” she explained, noting that the show features a cast of eight. “And it’s a play that doesn’t have a lot of touching or physical interaction between characters.” “The Importance of Being Earnest” is a farcical comedy written by Oscar Wilde. “It’s a show about a bunch of rich people and the frivolity of their
lives,” said Collin Arntz, who plays Algernon Moncrieff. “Algernon and Jack (Worthing, played by Andrew Allen) both have secret lives that they are keeping from their families, but their secrets start to come out.” This is the first time Collin, who is a senior, has performed on stage.
