COMMUNITY MEAL

St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 27 E. Main St., Mount Joy, will serve a free chicken and pasta casserole dinner on Sunday, Oct. 21, from 4 to 5 p.m. In addition to chicken and pasta, the meal will include a vegetable, bread and butter, dessert, and beverages. Although there is no cost for the dinner, reservations are requested. To make reservations, call the church office at 717-653-5493 by Thursday, Oct. 18. PANCAKE BREAKFAST

Mount Joy Lions Club will host a pancake breakfast on Saturday, Oct. 27, in the social hall of Trinity Lutheran Church, 47 W. Main St., Mount Joy. Breakfast will be served from 6:30 to 10 a.m. In addition to all-you-can-eat pancakes, the meal will include sausage, scrambled eggs, orange juice, coffee, and tea. Parking is available in a lot behind the church. Separate ticket costs have been set for adults and for children under age 12. Tickets may be purchased from any member of the Lions Club and at the door. QUARTET PERFORMANCE

located at New Haven and West Donegal streets, Mount Joy, will hold a concert of gospel music on Sunday, Oct. 21, at 10:15 a.m. Trinity will host the Brothers in Grace Gospel Team. Brothers In Grace, based in southcentral Pennsylvania, has performed its Southern gospel style music throughout the mid-Atlantic region. The members of the quartet are Dave Theis, Mike Man, Ted Wissler, and Dave Miller. The concert is free and open to the public.

Rainbow ’s End Youth Services (REYS) invites community members to take part in the 11th annual Craig Heisey Memorial 5K at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, at Donegal High School (DHS), 1025 Koser Road, Mount Joy. The 10th annual Victoria Heisey Fun Run for children will begin after the 5K is finished. The events are named in memory of Craig Heisey and his niece, Victoria Heisey. Craig, the husband of Linda Heisey and father of Chris, Katie, Jessica, and Jon, was an active member of Mount Joy Mennonite Church and a top salesman at Engle Printing & Publishing Co., Inc. He passed away in 2007 after a battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease along with complications of Lyme disease. Victoria, the daughter of Jim and

Exploring and focusing on the Scotch-Irish and Celtic roots at Donegal Presbyterian Church will be one of the focuses of the congregation as it prepares

for the 300th anniversary of the founding of the church in August 2021. As an advent to the various activities in the works for 2020 and 2021, the congregation will host a Celtic Evensong Service on Sunday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m. in the See Celtic Evensong pg 7

Dental Practice Announces New Name, Welcomes New Dentist MJP Family Dental, formerly known as Kassab & Johnson Family Dental, 28 N. Barbara St., Mount Joy, has recently transitioned to new leadership. In August, Dr. Eli Katz replaced D r . Edward Kassab and Dr. Janice Johnson upon their retirements. While the practice features a new name and primary care provider, the office has retained its same location and six team members. Katz, who speaks English and Spanish, and his staff are committed to providing personalized service of the highest quality, as well as to maintain an active schedule of continuing education in order to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and materials. Katz graduated with honors from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s degree in engineering science and then received his Doctor of Medicine
