Guten Morgen, Donegal! DHS Hosts 20 German Exchange Students By Chelsea Peifer
Everything is bigger in America. At least, that was the consensus among several of the German students who visited Donegal High School (DHS) from Sept. 27 to Oct. 11. The 20 students from the Jacob-GrimmSchule in Kassel, Germany, were hosted by DHS students in their homes through the German American Partnership Program (GAPP) Exchange. “The most crazy thing for me was the mall, because it is twice the size of even our biggest town mall,” said 17-year-old Hannes, referring to his visit to Park City Center in Lancaster. Union Meeting House To Provide Setting For Haunted Marietta By Chelsea Peifer
Willis Boyles has loved Halloween ever since he was a child. For the past three years, he has created a haunted house in his backyard for neighbors, in addition to decorating his house to the hilt. More than 1,000 people have attended the backyard event. “This time of year if people ask where I live, all I have to say is the house on Market Street with all the Halloween decorations, and they know exactly what I’m talking about,” said Willis’ wife, Nikki Boyles. This year, Willis has teamed up with Marietta Restoration Associates (MRA) to make an even bigger and better haunted attraction for the community. See Haunted Marietta pg 8
