Marietta Community House Invites The Public To Enjoy “An Evening In The Studio” By Chelsea Peifer

On Saturday, Sept. 21, the Marietta Community House will host “An Evening in the Studio,” which will showcase both of its historic buildings at 264 W. Market St., Marietta. This is an extra special year for the annual dinner and benefit auction, as the Marietta Community House is celebrating its 100th anniversary. “The auction is always a really fun night, and we’d love to have anyone and everyone show up,” said Katherine Leaman, Marietta Community House president. “We have regained the building that saw the birth of the Susquehanna Stage Company and are excited to showcase

both the studio and the house during the auction,” stated Leaman. Susquehanna Stage Company relocated to its new space at 133 W. Market St., Marietta, earlier in 2019. Leaman said that future possibilities for the space formerly occupied by the community theater group, which is now being called the studio, are currently being explored and discussed by board members. Historically, the space functioned as a gymnasium. “We are looking for something that will benefit the community as a whole and are open to all possibilities,” remarked Leaman. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served in the studio beginning at 5:30 p.m. Silent auction items will be See Marietta Community House pg 8
