The Elizabethtown/Mount Joy Christian Women’s Connection invites area ladies to its “Tourist Treasures in Your Own Backyard” brunch on Thursday, Aug. 9, at 9:30 a.m. at The Gathering Place, 6 Pine St., Mount Joy. All Fired Up For Annual Chicken Barbecue On Saturday, Aug. 18, the Mount Joy Chamber of Commerce will host its 23rd annual chicken barbecue at the rear of the Milanof-Schock Library, 1184 Anderson Ferry Road, Mount Joy. Food will be prepared by Peters’ Barbecue and served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Meals will include half a barbecued chicken, a baked potato, a roll and butter, applesauce, a whoopie pie, and a beverage. Half-chickens will also be available individually. All prepurchased meals must be picked up no later than 1 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at any of the following Mount Joy locations until approximately 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 17: J.B. Hostetter and Sons, 1225 W. Main St.; Darrenkamp’s Market, 945 E. Main St.; and the Milanof-Schock Library. Tickets will also be available at the Chamber office, 62 E. More Than A Workout Group F3 Lanco Focuses On Fitness, Fellowship, Faith By Chelsea Peifer
When Gary Fyke moved to Mount Joy from the greater Chicago area in 2017, he knew that he wanted to establish an F3 group in his new location. “Moving here, I couldn’t not have F3 in my life,” recalled Fyke, referring to the national network See F3 Lanco pg 9
F3 Lanco is part of a national network of free, peer-led, workouts for men. The group meets for workouts in a boot camp style on Saturday mornings at Rapho Township Community Park.
