Music in the Park programs will be presented weekly in the gazebo in Fuhrman Park, Rock Point Road, Maytown. On Sunday, June 9, at 7 p.m., the program will feature the Twin Rose Community Band. Christ Church United Church of Christ, 247 S. Market St., Elizabethtown, will hold a yard and bake sale, along with a chicken barbecue, on Saturday, June 8, beginning at 8 a.m. The community is invited to a variety of shopping and dining experiences. Along with the yard sale, a number of crafters will be on hand offering fair-trade gifts and handcrafted items. Baked goods will also be available for sale. Friends’ Book Sale To Support Library By Chelsea Peifer
The Friends of the Milanof-Schock Library will host a used book sale on Thursday, June 13, through Saturday, June 15, at Donegal High School (DHS), 1025 Koser Road, Mount Joy. Area residents are invited to shop the selection of thousands of used books, as well as DVDs and CDs. Book genres will include fiction, nonfiction, reference, cookbooks, gardening, home décor, health, history, children’s, Young Adult, Christian fiction, science, biography, and more. All proceeds from the book sale will directly benefit the general fund of the Milanof-Schock Library. A preview night will run from 6 to 8 p.m. on June 13. An admission fee
will be charged to shop only on that evening. Organizers emphasize that no one will be admitted to shop prior to the 6 p.m. start time. Volume buyers are encouraged to bring boxes or bags. No admission will be charged during book sale hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 14, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 15. Shoppers will have the option of stuffing a bag with merchandise for a set fee all day on June 15. In addition to reading material, the sale will feature a food stand offering hot dogs, pork and beef barbecue sandwiches, soft pretzels, snacks, ice cream, baked goods, and hot and cold beverages for purchase. LCBC Plans 20th Motorsports Show By Chelsea Peifer

After Cristin Germaine held the third Dare to Dream Single Moms’ Day Out in 2018, she felt a change was in order. “By the end of 2018, I was talking with trusted friends about where to go with Dare to Dream,” recalled Germaine, who felt the Lord pushing her to expand the audience for the next event. “This will be a brand-new venture,” said Germaine of the free re-envisioned event that will be held on Saturday, June 22, at Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Road, Lancaster, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The day will be called “Dream BIG!: Ignite Your Passion,” and it will be open to men and teenagers age 15 and up in See Dream BIG! pg 5
In September 2018, Cristin Germaine recorded the theme song for the first Dream BIG! event, which will be held at Calvary Church on June 22. Dream BIG! will include workshops and more to encourage men, women, and teenagers age 15 and up wishing to pursue a dream.
LCBC (Lives Changed By Christ) Church will host the 20th annual Motorsports Show at its Manheim campus, located at 2392 Mount Joy Road, Manheim, on Saturday, June 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This year’s Motorsports Show will feature more than 1,000 antique, classic, model, and muscle cars; tuners; street rods; and motorcycles. The event is free for entrants and visitors. All vehicles are welcome in the Motorsports Show, and interested individuals may register a vehicle to be part of the show at http://LCBCchurch.com/ Motorsports.
