Auction To Support Fight Against Cancer Library Series To Highlight Local History
Captain Morgan’s Cancer Crusaders Relay For Life team will hold its 19th silent auction on Saturday, April 13, at Shank’s Tavern, 36 S. Waterford Ave., Marietta. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the silent auction will close at 10 p.m. The event usually includes approximately 100 auction items, such as jewelry, artwork, clothing, sports items and gift certificates for food and services. John Chapman will provide music, and there may be a special guest. Bob “The Rodman” Shank is scheduled to be present. The kitchen will be open. A set requested donation will be received at the door. All proceeds from the event will go to the American Cancer Society to continue the fight against cancer. The funds will go toward research, as well as assistance for local cancer survivors and their caregivers.

Captain Morgan’s Cancer Crusaders Relay For Life team invites the community to attend the team’s 19th silent auction on Saturday, April 13, at Shank’s Tavern in Marietta.
Local residents interested in learning about the places where they live are invited to attend a three-part series of programs being offered in April and May at the Milanof-Schock Library in Mount Joy. “My Hometown Series” will focus on three areas served by the library: Maytown, Mount Joy and Marietta. “Maytown, Queen City of Donegal” will be the topic of the program on Monday, April 15. “Mount Joy Memories” will be offered on Wednesday, May 1, and “Marietta, the Pittsburgh of the East” will be featured on Monday, May 20. Annual Fishing Derby, Breakfast Planned HARTZ Physical Therapy The Donegal Fish and Conservation Association (DFCA) will host its annual Kids Fishing Derby at the reflecting pond on the grounds of the historic Donegal Presbyterian Church, 1891 Donegal Springs Road, Mount Joy, on Saturday, April 6. Youths age 11 and under may fish from 8 to 11 a.m. Also welcome will be all handicapped anglers who possess a current Pennsylvania fishing license. Opens Clinic In Mount Joy
Youths age 11 and under, along with all handicapped anglers, may participate in the Donegal Fish and Conservation Association’s annual Kids Fishing Derby on the grounds of the historic Donegal Presbyterian Church in Mount Joy on Saturday, April 6.
HARTZ Physical Therapy (PT), which has four locations in Lancaster County, has opened a fifth office. The new clinic, located at 755 E. Main St., Mount Joy, was slated to open on April 1, and new patients are being accepted. The Mount Joy location is currently open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays while it builds a full caseload. It expects to increase to being open five days per week - Mondays through Fridays - starting in July. See HARTZ PT pg 9
