Strawberry Festival To Offer Rides, Food, Music And More A

fter being canceled for the past two years because of the pandemic, the Coatesville Strawberry Festival will return this year, offering family-friendly attractions, including games, carnival rides, food, musical entertainment and fireworks. All proceeds from the event will directly support the greater Coatesville community through grants and programs. The Strawberry Festival, being organized this year by the Rotary Club of Coatesville, will take place on the grounds of the former Tower Health/Brandywine Hospital, 201 Reeceville Road, Coatesville. Admission is free. The festival will be open on Thursday, June 2, from 5 to 10 p.m.; on Friday, June 3, from 5 to 11 p.m.; on Saturday, June 4, from noon to 11 p.m.; and on Sunday, June 5, from noon to 6:30 p.m.

age 5 and under will be eligible to win prizes when they come dressed in their best strawberry-themed outfits. Vendors will offer a wide selection of food items, including barbecue, seafood, hamburgers and hot dogs, chicken tenders, fresh salads, kettle corn, water ice and ice cream. The Rotary Club will have a booth where club members will sell strawberry shortcake and beverages.

Majestic Midway, which will present the amusement rides and games, will implement Magic Money, a touchless ticketing and payment system. June 2 will be wristband night. Those who purchase a wristband will be able to enjoy unlimited amusement rides in the Midway. Discount rides and reduced ride credits will be offered on June 4 and 5 from noon to 2 p.m.

Musical entertainment will include solo artists and rock ‘n’ roll groups, as well as the Lukens Concert Band. Local dance, gymnastics and baton twirling groups will also perform. Cirque Adventure will present three shows each day on Saturday and Sunday. On June 3 at 9:45 p.m., there will be fireworks show sponsored by The Alliance for Health Equity. This year’s Strawberry Festival’s presenting sponsor is Citadel Credit Union. The Midway sponsors are Bob and Jennifer McNeil and Dallas and Di Krapf. The Strawberry Stage sponsor is Cleveland-Cliffs. Strawberry Shortcake sponsors are Presence Bank and Charles Blosenski Disposal. The craft and vendor fair sponsors are The Tree Connection, Quick-Stop Pharmacy, Renewal by Andersen, The Stewart Huston Charitable Trust, Greg A. Vieri Inc, Terravida Holistic Centers and Mike and Becky Givler. The steering committee for the Strawberry Festival consists of Rotary Club members Michael Givler, Greg Krajewski and Karol Collins.
