School To Present Spring/Summer Outgrown Sale By Francine Fulton

The Bradford Heights Elementary School Home and School Association (BHHSA) will present its Spring/Summer Outgrown Sale on Saturday, March 9, at the school, 1330 Romig Road, Downingtown. The sale will be open from 8 to 11:30 a.m., and the doors will reopen from noon to 1 p.m. for a 50-percent-off sale on select items. This is the 15th year for the sale, which will feature gently used clothing for infants, toddlers and school-age children and tweens, sizes 0 to 16, as well as toys, books, shoes, bicycles and more. Visitors are invited to begin their shopping experience in the school gymnasium, where the clothing, sporting goods, toys and décor items will be on display, as well as accessories, such as socks, neckties, sunglasses and backpacks.

“ When you walk in, you are immediately shifted to the gymnasium. We will have shopping baskets that people can put their things in,” explained Carolyn Clark, who is a member of the outgrown sale committee along with Heiki Evans and Ellen Beears. “Most of the inventory is in the gymnasium. As you loop around to the registers, we have the outdoor play equipment and bicycles and the baby equipment in the hallways. Right before the registers, we have all the books, CDs and DVDs, (including) CDs that are especially toddler and preschool appropriate.” She noted that shoppers will be able to peruse the books and related items while they are in line. The event will also include a sale of baked goods, which will also be located by the registers. “We have a group called the Bradford Bakers who volunteer to bake for our school events,” noted Clark.
