Eastern York Will Celebrate Homecoming BY CATHY MOLITORIS
astern York High School will celebrate homecoming before the school’s football game against Susquehannock High School on Friday, Oct. 15. A homecoming dance will be held on Saturday, Oct. 16. The candidates for homecoming queen are Aubrey Buchanan, Sadie Buser, Teirini Doll, Breana Grim, Evelyn Whiteside and Victoria Zerbe. Homecoming king candidates are Bryce Currier, Logan Dodson, Brody Hinkle, Ethan Nickel, Jordan Peters, Anthony Roselli and Ludovico Solaro. Aubrey is the daughter of Travis Strausbaugh and Lorissa St. Clair of Hellam. She is president of FFA and is a member of Student Council, Mini-THON and the Interact, Varsity, SADD and yearbook clubs. After graduation, she plans to attend college to major in biology with a focus in zoology and botany. Sadie is the daughter of Michele Buser of Wrightsville and the late Richard Buser. She is an executive member of Student Council and Mini-THON and is a member of the

National Honor Society (NHS). She is president of SADD and is a member of the Varsity, recycling and yearbook clubs. She also plays lacrosse and varsity basketball. Outside of school, she volunteers as a coach with the U6 Hellam Ravens soccer team and participates in York Thunder AAU basketball. She plans to attend college to major in biochemistry with the goal of becoming a dentist. Teirini is the daughter of Sheena and Nathan Smeltzer of East Prospect and Shannon Doll of Hellam. She is captain of the volleyball team, is a cheerleader and plays basketball and lacrosse. She is also a member of Student Council. After graduation, she plans to attend Shippensburg University to major in criminal justice. Breana is the daughter of James Grim and Rebekah Grim of Lower Windsor. She is a member of NHS, Student Council and Mini-THON as well as the SADD and Varsity clubs. She also plays varsity basketball. Outside of school, she plays travel basketball. After graduation, she plans to attend college to major in business marketing.

No Tricks, Just Treats, On This Tour

Over the years, Columbia has experienced its fair share of tragedy. There was the burning of the Columbia Opera House, deaths on Wright’s Ferry, a deadly trolley crash and the famous burning of the Columbia-Wrightsville Bridge. Rivertown Theatre Productions will bring this spooky history to life during Columbia’s Haunted Lantern Tour. Tours will be given every half-hour between 6:30 and See Rivertown Theatre pg 3

Spooky season is upon us, and what better way to celebrate than with a Halloween Tour? Create Columbia will host the tour of nine locations throughout Columbia on Sunday, Oct. 31, from 3 to 8 p.m. Tickets will be available on the day of the event at the Columbia Market House, 15 S. Third St., from 2:30 to 6 p.m. “This is a self-guided tour,” said Denise Brubaker, who is organizing the event with Kay Leader. “The tickets will include a brochure with the addresses and summaries of each place.”
