pawpaw orchard at the Horn Farm Center, 4945 Horn Road, York. Richard Bono, who manages the 48 pawpaw trees that were planted six years ago, reported that more than 100 pawpaw fruits are on the trees this year. According to Richard, the orchard has been well mulched and mowed all year. Between that and the fact that the trees are now bearing the highly anticipated fruit, Richard said, “It has never looked better.” Richard and his wife, Judy Bono, help to organize the annual Pawpaw Festival at the Horn Farm Center. They are expecting record crowds this year, as pawpaw lovers have traveled great distances in recent years to attend the event. The 2018 Pawpaw Festival is slated to take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 22 and 23, on the Horn Farm Center grounds.
